Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has taken a tough stance against Israel's action in the Gaza Strip, stressing that the rocket response to Hamas has turned into a massacre of civilians.
At a meeting of the parliamentary group of the AK party, Erdogan criticized the merciless bombing of Gaza, saying that the war must have a moral
"We believe that the war also has a moral. We oppose the killing of civilians on Israeli territory. We never accept the killing of innocents in Gaza. A conflict carried out by cutting off water, electricity, entrances and exits to a city, collapsing its infrastructure, demolishing all places of worship, from mosques to churches, and destroying buildings where civilians live with bombs, does not it's a war, but a massacre," says Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Erdogan insisted that if the attacks on Gaza continue to massacre civilians, then Israel will be placed in an unwanted place, being treated by the international community as an organization rather than a state.
"Attacks on Gaza could push Israel into an unexpected position in the eyes of world public opinion. The deliberate killing of civilians and the blocking of medicines sent with humanitarian aid may be the reflexes of an organization, not a state. Israel must not forget that if it acts as an organization and not as a state, it will eventually begin to be treated as an organization. We are ready to prevent the deepening of the conflict. We invite the parties to exercise restraint," he continues.
